ADDENDUM TO PSC INTERNAL ADVERT NO. 8 OF 2025

The Secretary, Public Service Commission would like to inform all eligible Serving Officers in Government Ministries and Local Governments that some corrections have been effected in the above Advert. In addition, new positions have also been added as indicated below.

Applicants who have been affected by corrections effected in the Advert are encouraged to apply for other positions for which they meet the qualifications. The deadline for submission of applications for this addendum advert is Monday 24th November, 2025 before midnight. The deadline for the main Advert remains the same.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Arts; or Social Sciences; or Law; or Development Studies; or Public Administration and Management; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Management Science; or Commerce (Management option); or Business Administration (Management option) plus a Masters Degree in Public Administration; or Management; or Development Administration from a recognized University/Institution and a Certificate in Administrative Officer’s Law Course from the Law Development Centre. NB: Serving Officers are informed that successful applicants for this post, once appointed, shall be deployed upcountry to the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development (Zonal Offices). Those who are not interested in deployment to upcountry offices (Zonal Offices) need not to apply.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience of which three (3) years should have been served at the level of Senior Assistant Secretary in Government.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Under Secretary for performing the following duties:-

- Coordinating the preparation of audit query responses and initiating action on Public Accounts Committee (PAC) directives;

- Coordinating inter and intra Ministry collaboration;

- Producing quarterly and annual performance reports;

- Compiling responses for Ministers to questions/issues raised in Parliament;

- Drafting Cabinet Policy Papers;

- Supervising and appraising subordinate staff;

- Drafting Cabinet Policy Papers;

- Supervising and appraising subordinate staff;

- Drafting budget estimates for the department;

- Preparing speeches and papers for presentation by the supervisors;

- Preparing responses to communication from other stakeholders;

- Preparing and integrated departmental work plan;

- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
