ADDENDUM TO PSC INTERNAL ADVERT NO. 8 OF 2025

The Secretary, Public Service Commission would like to inform all eligible Serving Officers in Government Ministries and Local Governments that some corrections have been effected in the above Advert. In addition, new positions have also been added as indicated below.

Applicants who have been affected by corrections effected in the Advert are encouraged to apply for other positions for which they meet the qualifications. The deadline for submission of applications for this addendum advert is Monday 24th November, 2025 before midnight. The deadline for the main Advert remains the same.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering; or Agricultural Mechanization; or Mechanical Engineering plus a Master of Science Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board. A Post Graduate qualification in Management; or Administration will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience in handling issues of Agricultural Engineering, three (3) of which should have been served at Principal Engineer level in Government.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner, Agricultural Mechanization for performing the following duties:-

- Providing professional leadership in the development and implementation of mechanization quality assurance and certification, system plans and programs;

- Providing technical guidance in the formulation and review of policies, plans, designs strategies, legislations and standards for engineering and mechanization;

- Developing and establishing effective management operating systems for data gathering, monitoring, analysis, classification and evaluation of mechanization programmes;

- Liaising with agricultural manufacturing and importing agencies to ensure that right implements and equipment are availed to farmers;

- Promoting networking between other Ministries and Agencies and other professional bodies;

- Building capacity of staff in the Engineering and Mechanization Division;

- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
