VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, UGANDA TOURISM BOARD
The Public Service Commission was requested by the Uganda Tourism Board to undertake the recruitment and selection exercise for the positions of the Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the posts as indicated below:-

BACKGROUND:
Uganda Tourism Board which is an equal opportunity employer is a a semi autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.
It is being managed in accordance with the Uganda Tourism Act 2008. The objectives of the Uganda Tourism Board are to:-
a) promote and contribute to the development of the Tourism Sector in Uganda;
b) coordinate with the Ministry and the private sector in the implementation of the national tourism policy;
carryout such activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects specified in paragraph (a) and (b) above.
DUTY STATION: UGANDA TOURISM BOARD HEADQUARTERS
DEPARTMENT: Office of the Chief Executive Officer
SUPERVISES: Manager Quality Assurance
CONTRACT DURATION: Three (3) years. Renewable on satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
PROBATION PERIOD: Six (6) Months
- Assisting in overseeing the development of strategies for promotion of investment in the sector;
- Assisting in managing the procurement and disposal of the assets of UTB;
- Assisting in representing the entity and guiding the Board on matters of law;
- Managing the image and relationships between UTB, other entities and the public;
- Assisting in guiding on financial performance and manage quality assurance services in systems of internal controls, risk management and governance processes;
- Assisting in liaising with other entities including the Ministry responsible for Tourism on behalf of the Board.
- Assisting in advicing the Board on the provision of assistance to strengthen private entities in the tourism sector where necessary and appropriate.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
