ADDENDUM TO PSC EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 1/2019

 

The Secretary, Public Service Commission would like to inform all the applicants and members of the General Public that some additional vacant posts are hereby declared and added on PSC External Advert No. 1/2019 which was advertised in the New Vision  Newspaper of Monday 4th March 2019, for filling.  The deadline for submission of applications online for the additional posts listed below will be Friday 17th April 2019.  Arising out of PSC External Advert No. 1/2019 mentioned above and this Addendum, each applicant is allowed to apply for a maximum of two (2) posts.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering ( Mechanical, or Chemical, or Chemistry) or any other related field, plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have nine (9) years relevant working experience three (3) of which should have been at Principal Petroleum Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organisation.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner Midstream Petroleum for performing the following duties:-

-       Coordinating the overall activities of the refining division;

-       Participating in preliminary activities leading to licensing process;

-       Reviewing and advising on applications for licenses for refineries and related infrastructure;

-       Spearheading the review of proposed refinery technologies;

-       Participating in the development and reviewing of the policy, legal and regulatory framework for refining;

-       Coordinating the promotion and implementation of development of refinery activities;

-       Participating in preparation of work plans, budgets and reports;

-       Spearheading the process of harmonizing refinery product standards with relevant entities and development of midstream operations standards;

-       Supervising and appraising staff;

-       Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
