     Applications are invited from suitably qualified Public Officers appointed by the National and District Service Commissions serving in Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments to fill Vacant Posts.  Applications should be filled ON-LINE and submitted not later than 28th September, 2021. a)        Apply ON-LINE.

b)        Scan and submit relevant documents (‘O’ Level, ‘A’ Level, Degree Certificates, Academic Transcripts and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) on-line.

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)        Applicants are required to print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer. They should then scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Economics; or Social Works and Social Administration; or Political Science; or Development Studies; or Commerce (Management option); or Business Administration (Management option); or Statistics; plus, a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. A Post Graduate Diploma in Development Policy Management and Practice; or Public Policy Management; or Policy Analysis and formulation will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Principal Officer level in Government or an equivalent level from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner, Socio-economic Research and Monitoring for performing the following duties:-

-      Coordinating and helping in guiding other Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies to make use of the economic social policy research data in the analysis of socio-economic conditions and interventions;

-      Providing Policies which are for achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Regional Economic Integration, East African Community (EAC) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA);

-      Monitoring Macro economic performance;

-      Participating in preparing Policy Papers on long term developments for poverty eradication;

-      Collaborating with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in preparation of the background to the budget;

-      Initiating and evaluating the effectiveness of Government Policies and Programmes;

-      Maintaining an efficient policy development and analysis framework;

-      Liaising with other line Ministries in order to develop cross sector policies;

 

-      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
