PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

 

     Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving Public Officers in Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments dully appointed and confirmed by the Appointing National and Local Service Commissions to fill vacant posts.  Applications   should be filled ON-LINE and submitted not later than Thursday 21st April, 2022.  The link to the e- recruitment system can be accessed and viewed at https://vacancies.psc.go.ug/ors.

a)          Apply ON-LINE.

b)          Scan and submit relevant documents (O’ Level, A’ Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) on-line.

c)          Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)          Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officers.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law; or Business Administration (Management option) ; or Development Studies; or Arts; or Education; or Science; or Social Sciences; or Economics; or Public Administration; or Public Policy and Management plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants should be in possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in the following fields; Public Policy and Management; or Public Administration; or Management from a recognized University/Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Principal Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable Organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner Social Affairs for performing the following duties:-

-       Providing technical support in the development, planning, implementation of policies, programs and guidelines in the Department of Social Affairs;

-       Providing technical support in the implementation of matters relating to Regional Integration in Social Affairs;

-       Providing technical support in the harmonization of Uganda’s policies on Social Affairs to conform to the East African Community Integration Agenda;

-       Providing technical support in monitoring and implementation of East Africa Community Council and Summit decisions and directives;

-       Providing support for the research agenda of the Department of Social Affairs;

-       Providing support in the development of technical proposals for funding in Social Affairs;

-       Providing technical support in sensitization and awareness programmes on the East African Community Integration Agenda to the Public;

-       Providing technical support in initiatives for collaboration with Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Private Sector and Civil Society Organizations on the East African Community Integration Agenda;

 

-       Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
