     Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill available vacancies in Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies. Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Electronic Engineering; or Electrical Engineering; or Telecommunications Engineering; or Communications Engineering from a recognized University / Institution plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields of training from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants should be registered with the Engineers Registration Board. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning or any Management related qualification from a recognized University / Institution will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Radios) in Government or an equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner, ICT Infrastructure Development for performing the following duties:-

-      Ensuring frequencies for radio communications are properly allocated and assigned to different user categories including the digital dividends;

-      Planning and ensuring efficient utilization of the radio frequency spectrum with the view of ensuring guaranteed and reliable communications services;

-      Monitoring and evaluating the use of allocated spectrum, numbering plans, orbital slots;

-      Developing and operationalizing appropriate standards for delivery of data services over digital TV networks in Uganda in line with the International Telecommunications Union recommendations and best practices elsewhere;

-      Participating in Monitoring and Evaluation of Legislations, Policies, Plans and Strategies on ICT infrastructure development/ improvements;

-      Participating in evolving sound policies, recommendations and strategies to be taken account of by Government during the implementation of emerging infrastructure service delivery technologies in Uganda;

-      Providing technical advice to the Government on all matters concerning management of radio spectrum in the Country;

-      Supervising and appraising of subordinate staff;

 

-      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
