Applications are invited from suitably qualified, serving Public Officers in Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments to fill vacant posts.  Application Forms/Public Service Form No.3 (2008) should be filled ON-LINE not later than 18 May, 2018.  The link to the e-recruitment system can be accessed via the Public Service Commission website www.psc.go.ug .

 

Applicants are advised to: -

 

a)    Apply ON-LINE.

b)    Scan, attach and submit relevant documents (‘O Level, ‘A Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) On-line.

c)    Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)    Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

    iii.        Complete your profile (starting with the Bio data moving downwards)

   iv.        View Available Adverts and the jobs therein.

   vi.        View the Job Details and Click Apply now

  vii.        Review your application and SUBMIT your application.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelors Degree in Finance and Accounting or Bachelors Degree with a bias in Accounting plus full professional qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding body. Or In the case of non first Bachelors Degree Holders, applicants should have full profession qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding Institution, accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Management related field obtained from a recognized awarding Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have three (3) years relevant working experience which should have been served at the level of Accountant in Government or equivalent level of relevant experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Accountant for performing the following duties:-

-           Verifying completeness of payment requisitions, justification, documentation of financial transactions;

-           Supervising periodic reconciliation of ledgers and cash books to accounts statements; non-tax revenue remittance to URA, provisional returns and providing advice on appropriate action;

-           Producing routine financial management information and draft periodic financial statements and reports for management use;

-           Preparing draft periodic statements and reports for compilation of final accounts;

-           Coordinating preparation of draft responses to audit activities or queries and oversight issues;

-           Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
