Job Details (ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER, INTERNAL AUDIT )

Applications are invited from suitably, qualified, serving Public Officers in      Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments to fill vacant posts.  Applications   should be filled not later than Friday 29/3/2019. Applicants should visit   https://vacancies.psc.go.ug/ors  to apply.

 

Applicants are advised to: -

 

a)        Apply ON-LINE.

b)        Scan, attach and submit On-line recent passport size photograph and relevant documents (O’ Level, A’ Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion).

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)        The passport should be less than 150KB and in the standard image formats i.e. JPGE, PNG or JPG.

e)        Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

b)       As  a new user click on ‘Register’ to create your account and complete your profile starting with the Bio data moving downwards

c)       If you already have an account simply sign in and update your profile

d)       Click on Jobs then Advertised Jobs on the menu.

e)       View available adverts and the jobs therein.

f)        Select a Job from the list of Advertised Jobs.

g)       View the Job Details and Click Apply now.

h)       Review your application and SUBMIT.  Once submitted, applications cannot be edited or withdrawn.

 

NB. You can apply for a maximum of two posts in a given advert.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of: EITHER An Honours’ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or Business Administration/Commerce (Accounting option) from a recognized University/Institution. OR Qualified or Chartered Accountant (holder of full Professional qualification in Accountancy) obtained from a recognized awarding Institution/Body accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). Applicants must have Masters’ Degree in Financial Management or Accountancy or Business Administration or a Management related discipline from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants must be Members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda ICPAU.
Working Experience
Applicants should have nine (9) years working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Principal Internal Auditor in Government or equivalent level of working experience in Accounts/Audit work from a reputable Organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner, Internal Audit for performing the following duties:-

-     Coordinating development of internal audit policy and guidelines;

-     Overseeing internal audit planning process;

-     Reviewing internal audit plans and programs based on risks profile;

-     Monitoring specialist internal audit functions and governance issues;

-     Inspecting and making reports on internal audit issues and engagements;

-     Preparing annual consolidated Internal Audit Reports;

-     Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
