Applications are invited from suitably, qualified, serving Public Officers in      Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments to fill vacant posts.  Applications   should be filled not later than Friday 29/3/2019. Applicants should visit   https://vacancies.psc.go.ug/ors  to apply.

 

Applicants are advised to: -

 

a)        Apply ON-LINE.

b)        Scan, attach and submit On-line recent passport size photograph and relevant documents (O’ Level, A’ Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion).

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)        The passport should be less than 150KB and in the standard image formats i.e. JPGE, PNG or JPG.

e)        Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

b)       As  a new user click on ‘Register’ to create your account and complete your profile starting with the Bio data moving downwards

c)       If you already have an account simply sign in and update your profile

d)       Click on Jobs then Advertised Jobs on the menu.

e)       View available adverts and the jobs therein.

f)        Select a Job from the list of Advertised Jobs.

g)       View the Job Details and Click Apply now.

h)       Review your application and SUBMIT.  Once submitted, applications cannot be edited or withdrawn.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. Possession of a Master’s Degree or a Post Graduate Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized University/Institution will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have ten (10) years relevant working experience in Justice, Law and Order Sector, three (3) of which should have been gained at Principal State Attorney Level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Legal Advisory Services for performing the following duties:-

-       Undertaking negotiations and drafting contracts on behalf of Government and affiliated  Agencies;

-       Handling legal assignments on negotiations and related matters;

-       Handling contract  or preparing drafts for Attorney General and Solicitor General ;

-       Participating and providing technical support and guidance to negotiation machinery and activities related to the country in  negotiations, contracts, treaties agreements  between Government and other parties both of local and international nature;

-       Participating in arbitration proceedings process;

-       Providing legal support and advice to Government and its affiliated Agencies on matters of contracts, negotiations and general legal advisory services;

-       Interpreting legal contracts as required by stakeholders;

-       Preparing legal briefs and Cabinet Memoranda of a legal nature for the Solicitor General   and Attorney General;

-       Drawing and perusing agreements, contracts, treaties and documents to which the Government is a party or has interest;

-       Supervising, appraising and monitoring staff;

-       Any other duties, as may be assigned from time to time.
