Applications are invited from suitably qualified, serving Public Officers in Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments to fill vacant posts.  Application Forms/Public Service Form No.3 (2008) should be filled ON-LINE not later than 18 May, 2018.  The link to the e-recruitment system can be accessed via the Public Service Commission website www.psc.go.ug .

b)    Scan, attach and submit relevant documents (‘O Level, ‘A Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) On-line.

c)    Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)    Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology or Science Technology – Biology from a recognised University/Institution plus a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized university/Institution will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have six (6) years working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Laboratory Technician level in the field of Biomedical Laboratory Technology or Science Technology in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Inspector, Diagnostics for performing the following duties:-

-      Setting standards for the control of disease, pests and weed climatic conditions;

-      Collecting samples, preparing and carrying out quality control under sterile conditions;

-      Undertaking quality control activities/ experiments to ensure proper investigations and tests development;

-      Participating in activities leading to the identification of pests and disease and weed strains in the country;

-      Preparing re-agents and all the required materials used in the laboratories;

-      Creating and maintaining records related to tests and investigations of pests, diseases and weeds;

-      Undertaking, guiding and supporting research activities and quality control experiments;

-      Carrying out proper storage and use of laboratory equipment;

-      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
