Job Details (SENIOR AGRICULTURAL OFFICER, FARM LAND PLANNING)

d)        Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture; or Agricultural Economics; or Horticulture; or Agribusiness plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University/ Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field of Agriculture or Crop Science at Agricultural Officer level in Government or from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Officer, Farmland Planning for performing the following duties:-

-       Carrying out, planning, evaluating and monitoring technical activities in farmland planning management;

-       Compiling and up-dating base on farmland planning;

-       Promoting farmland planning management systems, guidelines, standards and regulations;

-       Guiding on specifications of farmland planning equipment;

-       Disseminating proven farmland planning technologies for improved agricultural productivity and production;

-       Promoting transfer of appropriate technologies to uptake pathways for adoption and scaling up in collaboration with private sector, other Government Agencies and Local Governments;

-       Providing technical training to extension staff in farmland planning through partnerships, private sector, and district local governments;

-       Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
