Job Details (SENIOR DISTRICT INSPECTOR)

b)        Scan and submit relevant documents (‘O’ Level, ‘A’ Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) on-line.

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)        Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce; or Business Administration; or Economics; or Procurement; or Engineering; or Law; or Social Sciences; or Management plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have three (3) years relevant working experience at the level of District Inspector in Government or from a reputable organization
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Urban Inspector for performing the following duties:-

-      Inspecting and monitoring Financial Management standards in Local Governments;

-      Tendering advice to Local Governments as per the laid down Laws and Regulations;

-      Following up on Local Governments Contracts;

-      Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual inspection and monitoring reports of Local Governments;

-      Advising Local Governments and other authorities where corrective action should be taken;

-      Assisting in Development investments of Local Governments for Donors and those being handled in the Ministry of Local Governments;

-      Assisting in Local Government training programes;

-      Supporting inspection and monitoring of projects to assess their attainment of value for money;

-      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
