PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

 

     Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill available vacancies in Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies. Applications should be filled ON-LINE and submitted not later than Monday 16th May, 2022. The link to the e- recruitment system can be accessed at http://vacancies.psc.go.ug/ors.

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)         Officers serving in the Public Service are required to print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officers.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in History; or Archeology; or Social Anthropology/Ethnography; or Geography; or Tourism; or Education and Fine Art/Curatorship plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants should possess a Post Graduate training in Museums and Heritage Management studies.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant working , three (3) of which should have been gained at the level of Assistant Commissioner Museums / Sites in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Tourism, Wildlife and Museums for performing the following duties:-

-       Providing Technical Leadership in the formulation and review of Policies, plans, programs and guidelines for the Museums;

-       Providing Leadership in the development of annual recurrent and capital development estimates for the Museums;

-       Providing Technical Leadership of the management of Museum Projects;

-       Ensuring development and enhancement of regional Museums;

-       Leading the implementation and domestication of the Conventions and Agreements affecting the Museums artefacts in liaison with UNESCO, ICOM, AFRICOM and other Development Partners;

-       Providing Leadership in the research and publication in Ethnography, History and general Museology;

-       Supervising, coaching and mentoring staff under his/her department;

 

-       Any other duties as may be deemed appropriate.
