Job Details (MANAGER SURVEYS AND MAPPING)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Public Officers serving in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA STAFF) ONLY, duly appointed and confirmed to fill vacant posts.  Applications should be filled ON-LINE and submitted not later than Tuesday 19th March, 2024.  The link to the e- recruitment system can be accessed and viewed at https://vacancies.psc.go.ug/ors

 

Mandatory Instructions to Applicants: -

 

a)         Apply ON-LINE.

b)         Scan and submit relevant documents (‘O’ and A’ Level Result Slips and Certificates, Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate Transcripts and Certificates, Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) on-line.

c)         Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)         Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officers.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

e)         Where the designated recommending Officer/Responsible Officer is reluctant or declines to provide a recommendation, the applicant should clearly indicate the reason(s) on the extract of PSC Form 3 (2008) and submit it online without the recommendation

f)          Falsification of documents will lead to automatic disqualification.

iii)           If you already have an account, simply click on your right and update your profile

vi)           Review your application and SUBMIT.

NB.   Applicants are free to apply for a maximum of two positions but must clearly state the first and second choice positions against the title of the position applied for.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics; or Land Surveying and Geo-Spatial Science; or Land Surveying and Information Systems Land Management from a recognized University / Institution plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants must be registered with a relevant professional body.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of seven (7) years relevant working experience in physical planning and urban planning, three (3) of which must have been gained at Principal or Middle management level in Government.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Deputy Director Land Administration and Surveys for performing the following duties:-

·           Coordinating and reviewing the process of acquiring spatial information required by KCCA   for proper management;

·           Developing, implementing and maintaining spatial records and Information System that enhances total integrity and security of records/information in line with best practice standards, and physical planning work plan;

·           Developing and implementing collaborative networks with other institutions and Departments within and outside KCCA doing similar work for continuous updating of the stored data;

·           Providing technical advice to all KCCA departments that require spatial information    for their operations;

·           Coordinating and supervising analysis of the spatial data collected and preparing analytical report for management’s attention;

·           Managing performance and development of staff in line with identified needs and Human Resource Policy;

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
