PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, serving Public Officers in Ministries/Departments/Agencies and Local Governments to fill vacant posts.  Application Forms/Public Service Form No.3 (2008) should be filled ON-LINE not later than 18 May, 2018.  The link to the e-recruitment system can be accessed via the Public Service Commission website www.psc.go.ug .

 

Applicants are advised to: -

 

a)    Apply ON-LINE.

b)    Scan, attach and submit relevant documents (‘O Level, ‘A Level, Degree and Professional Documents, copies of letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion) On-line.

c)    Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.

d)    Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer.  Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.

    iii.        Complete your profile (starting with the Bio data moving downwards)

   iv.        View Available Adverts and the jobs therein.

    v.        Click on a Job from the list of the advertised jobs

   vi.        View the Job Details and Click Apply now

  vii.        Review your application and SUBMIT your application.

Minimum Qualification
EITHER An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or Commerce or Business Administration or Economics or any other Honours Bachelors’ Degree plus full professional qualifications in Procurement/Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (such as CIPS, ISM and CILT) from a recognized awarding Institution. OR Full professional qualification in Procurement/Purchasing and Supply Chain Management from a recognised awarding Institute. Applicants in both categories above should have a Master’s Degree in either Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Management discipline from a recognized awarding Institution. Applicants in both categories above should be registered Members of a recognized professional body in Supply Chain Management.
Working Experience
Applicants should have nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served as Principal Procurement Officer in Government or equivalent level of experience in Procurement work from a reputable organisation.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commissioner, Procurement for performing the following duties:-

-       Carrying out research to facilitate review of Procurement and Disposal of Assets policies;

-       Liaising with relevant institutions in developing curriculum for procurement cadre;

-       Planning and executing career development and professional training;

-       Facilitating and implementing monitoring and inspection of procurement systems so as to ensure compliance with established laws, regulations, procedures and guidelines;

-       Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
